During the COVID-19 pandemic, we appreciate everyone’s cooperation to ensure that OPUS is able to operate safely for all guests and staff.
Winter reservations will be 10 spaces for all reservations for a minimum of 2 nights at $656/night and $55/night/person for meals, taxes included. Any new reservation not in compliance is subject to cancellation and refund minus processing fees.
All winter reservations will be for 10 bed spaces as opposed to specific rooms because we will be rotating between the upstair’s space (2 5-bed rooms) and the downstair’s space (2 3-bed rooms, 1 4-bed room) to ensure proper sanitizing. Groups should consist of people who are safe sharing indoor eating and sleeping quarters. We strongly encourage guests to get tested prior to arrival.
The guest COVID protocol is available here:OPUS-Hut_COVID-Winter Protocol. All guests must read, understand and will be required to sign on arrival.
All guests must also review and adhere to the local guidelines while visiting San Juan County. These are available here.
Winter Cancellation Policy: As a small backcountry lodge, we invest significant resources in preparing for the winter season, based on the reservations we receive. This was especially true this winter and we delayed our reservations until October so guests could make decisions based on the most current information and projections about COVID as possible.
Our policy is as follows: All cancellations 30 days or more before the reservation will receive an 80% credit. All cancellations within 30 days will receive no credit.
Our standard policy for avalanche danger also applies and groups deciding not to come when the avalanche danger rating is High or Extreme as forecasted by the Colorado Avalanche Information Center on their arrival date may cancel for 100% credit.
