Perched at 11,600ft, the OPUS Hut is a hand build, eco-friendly lodge, crafted with European influence and sustainable energy practices. Rustic wood interior, multiple decks and a wood burning fire place add a cozy feel to this high mountain hut.
All stays include, afternoon soup, dinner and breakfast. OPUS has a full kitchen offering a la carte snacks, and can cater to any special food preferences.
A network of mountain trails weave through the San Juans and many can be accessed from the hut. For an alternate approach, one can hike from Telluride, Red Mountain Pass, Lizard Head Pass or Silverton.
Ski slopes for all ability levels surround the hut. This part of the Rockies is known for deep, dry powder and some of the best backcountry terrain in the United States.
