The OPUS Hut is looking for hutkeepers who enjoy working in a backcountry setting and appreciate our low impact approach. This job offers time to explore the surrounding area on skis or foot and there is opportunity for promotion to a managerial role.
Hutkeeper Job Description
The hutkeeper is the host at the OPUS Hut. They prepare and serve breakfast, afternoon soup and dinner while also tending bar. Other responsibilities include cleaning, routine maintenance, tending fire, and hauling supplies. During the winter, additional work includes snow shoveling and skiing to/from the OPUS over several miles and two-thousand vertical feet. Shifts are generally three to four nights and during that time, hutkeepers stay in the hutkeeper quarters. There is time during the day to ski in the winter and explore the mountains during the summer.
